Planning : Casting

It is important to choose the actors beforehand because it will allow the chosen actors to fully prepare for the "role". Main qualities needed include reliability, trustworthiness and confidence.

Possible cast members:
Evie: We have considered Evie because she is a trustworthy and perfectionist individual and she could suit the role perfectly.

Tania: We have considered Tania because she is at ease in front of the camera. She does not get nervous either so she could potentially be part of the cast.

Panashe: Panashe is at ease in front of the camera as well as reliable. Good at remembering his lines, he could potentially be one the two cast members.

John: We have considered John because he is reliable, trustworthy and a good actor.

Agne: We have considered Agne because she has a good memory and is a trustworthy individual.

Planning: Location Planning

Location planning is essential because it gives a visual of where the filming is going to occur.

This is where the beginning of the short movie is going to be. It instantly reveals that the movie is shot at a school.

This is a bad and unsuitable location because the area is too small, there are no chairs to sit on either.

Then we went to the sixth-form area because this is where one of the brief scenes is going to happen. There is a lot of space and not too noisy.

This is where the main conversation is going to occur. This room has good lightning and not too much noise.

Planning : Storyboarding

I have created a storyboard to organise my work so I know exactly what I need to produce during the production/filming. All 12 shots are detailed and specific so the filming will run smoothly and more easily. Sounds, locations, camera shots and movements are all filled out so we precisely know how the camera will have to move, where the filming is going to occur, or what the character will have to say. I also briefly sketched the shot so I'll have a rough idea of how the shot is going to look like.

Planning : Preliminary Task Introduction

Continuity task involving filming and editing a character opening a door, crossing a room and sitting down in a chair opposite another character, with whom she/he then exchanges a couple of lines of dialogue. This task should demonstrate match on action, shot/reverse shot and the 180-degree rule.

Introduction

Bonjour, my name is Brian Oblitey and I am 16 years old. I live in a tranquil town called Kettering, situated in the Northants. I was originally born in Corbeil-Essonnes, a city near Paris, in France. Media was an obvious choice for my A-Levels purely because I am really interested in film-making and everything that has to do with television, such as music. I am highly looking forward to this course, because it is a brand-new subject/area for me to test and expand my knowledge on. This is how I use media daily:

Phone: I use my phone every day and use it for different services such as calling, browsing, listening to music. I also might use it for games.

Television: I watch television daily to get information but also to be entertained. My favourite shows vary from documentaries to music channels.

Radio: I rarely listen to the radio. But when I do, I usually listen to music stations. I would sometimes listen to the radio with my phone on long car journeys.

Newspapers/Magazines: I occasionally read magazines. When I do, it's to get information about what is happening in the UK and the rest of the world.

Internet: I often use the internet for social networks such as Twitter and Facebook. I use it to keep in touch with my friends abroad and to follow my favourite celebrities' activities. I would also use the Internet to watch videos on Youtube, often music videos, and to visit pages such as Wikipedia, to find out about certain things.
